Story Board

Intro:
Shot 1: the intro will be a panning shot following the subjects footsteps, a low level shot where the feet fill the frame.

Shot 2: this shot will be a still shot of leisure to give an overview of the location. this shot will be followed immediately by Shot 3: a panning shot of leisure to help set the location.

These first 3 shots will be the introduction that will have a voice over that's edited in, this voice over will be giving information on the location, what the documentary is about and statistics on smoking and the dangers of smoking.

Moving on from the intro, Shot 4: this shot will be a still shot where we are introduced to the reporter, a friendly face.

Shot 5: is a panning shot where it is continuous from the still shot 4 and we follow the presenter to a "secret location" to which we then meet people smoking.

Shot 6: this shot will be a short 2 second shoot on a fag/joint.

Shot 7: shot 7 will be a still shot of the reporter interviewing the people smoking, their faces will be blurred out through editing.

Questions asked by the reporter:
Q1. Are you aware of the dangers of smoking?
why do you still do it?
Q2. Do your parents know you smoke/do drugs?
Q3. How do you fund your addiction?
Q4. What you made you start? friends? stress?

what the voice over will say:
"In this weeks episode, we will be asking the youth of today, How did it all start?"
"In the UK, over 12% of 15 year olds are regular smokers"
"Nearly 8 million people still smoke, with 90% having started before the age of 19."
"An estimated 3,000 teens smoke their first cigarette each day, 1,000 of whom will die from tobacco-related causes."

There will also be a series of 3-4 interviews. the majority of camera work will be a standard format focusing on the presenter following him around, however the camera will be used in various ways to give a sense of location and setting, a range of shots including close ups, and medium close ups to focus on people within the documentary and props used. I will construct representations of individuals and a select group of the British youth through specific choice of costumes...
