The treatment - work in progress

The Treatment.
Title: How did it start?
Target audience: This documentary is going to adventuring into the life of raves and festivals and those who go to them. The aim of this documentary is not to expose people and scare people away from festivals and raves but to discover into and report why people enjoy this lifestyle so much, what it is that attracts them and the involvement of illegal substances. This is a sensitive topic so it won’t be aimed at young audiences, it will be aimed at the core target audience (18-35), as this core audience will be of the age where a large proportion will have already gone to festivals and raves or are planning to go soon, so they will want to know what to expect or find out whether people go for the same reasons as them. The target audience will fall into socioecomic groups C2/D as they will need to have jobs in order to pay for the festivals and raves that they go to, some younger people will be more reliant on their parents to pay for it therefore their parents will fall into the C1 socioecomic group but generally most parents will find it a waste of money so chances are that the audience work themselves and pay for themselves. This documentary is for festival goers that want to find out why everyone else goes, possible dangers they might encounter and how to avoid them, however, other people that aren’t typical festival goers might still be attracted as they might be curious as to why so many people spend so much money to go to these wild places over filled with too many people.
Form and style: This documentary will be a short clip showing footage of the inside of raves, festivals, camping conditions and people dancing and having a great time, the main aspect in this clip will be the interviews with people attending these events, asking them why they’re there, whats good about it, what’s bad and what role do drugs play in the festival and rave scenes. The footage showing the inside of these events will be footages of the vibrant night times, strobe lights and all kinds of other lighting, loud music and people dancing all night long, it will give a very strong insight to those who have not yet been and plan on it or it will be great footage that leads viewers to reminisce about their own rave experiences.

Aims and Intentions: How did it start?   A first-hand view into the party life of todays of today’s youth, is our future safe in their hands?   This documentary will be presenter lead, therefore the majority of the clip will consist of diegetic sounds, however there will be short series of non-diegetic sounds where the camera will be panning around to give a sense of locations and settings where the presenter will be doing a voice over and sharing information and facts. There will also be a series of 3-4 interviews. the majority of camera work will be a standard format focusing on the presenter following him around, however the camera will be used in various ways to give a sense of location and setting, a range of shots including close ups, and medium close ups to focus on people within the documentary and props used. I will construct representations of individuals and a select group of the British youth through specific choice of costumes...
